The Chequers has been licensed to serve fine ales, stout, wines and spirits since early 1800s and this charming, peaceful, characteristic countryside inn is the perfect retreat for a relaxing drink, meal or overnight stay; whichever one you choose; you will always be made very welcome. Our bar area has a large open fire with comfy leather sofas & chairs and our cosy pleasant dining areas overlook the village green in this delightful Oxfordshire village of Charney Bassett. The location is convenient for Oxford and Swindon as well as the Vale of the White Horse market towns of Faringdon, Abingdon and Wantage. |
The 3 en-suite rooms have been re-decorated with a bright, airy feel and pleasantly furnished to ensure you have a comfortable stay with us. All 3 rooms have a King size bed, flat screen digital TV, hairdryer, free Wi-Fi, a desk for working as well as tea and coffee facilities. For the comfort of all our guests, we have a non-smoking policy in all rooms.
